This grant aims to make solar energy more accessible and affordable, empowering homeowners to reduce their environmental impact and achieve energy self-sufficiency. Whether you are looking to lower your utility bills, decrease your carbon footprint, or enhance the value of your home, the CGEA Solar Grant provides the financial support needed to make your solar dreams a reality.

Through this initiative, CGEA provides not only financial assistance but also technical support and educational resources to ensure the successful implementation of your solar project. Our expert team is available to assist with site assessments, system design, and installation, ensuring that you have all the information and guidance you need throughout the process.

Before you start, check if your desired retrofit is eligible:

Home Ownership: 

You must be a legal house owner and will be required to provide proofs, such as Government-issued ID, Property Tax Bill or Property Assessment Report.

​

System Status: 

Your solar panel system installation must not have started yet.

​

​Grant History: 

You must not have previously received the Canada Greener Homes Grant for a solar related project.

Please note that the Canada Green Energy Association (CGEA) Solar Grant is subject to availability and not all applicants are guaranteed to receive funding. The CGEA team will thoroughly review each application to determine eligibility based on a set of criteria. Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis, and only those who meet the eligibility requirements and demonstrate the greatest potential for impact will be selected.
